Ash Wednesday: A Poem

Solitude
In my own head I sit cross-legged with a hunched-over back.
Reflecting

Imperfection
Do I genuinely see my own frailty?
Realizing

Sin
Against You, I fall short.
Repenting

Death
I deny it. But it is undeniable.
Seeing

Gratitude
I breathe fresh air promising to delight in Your daily gifts.
Smiling
